Senior Database Administrator

Come join the Rural America Onshore Outsourcing team as a Senior Database Administrator-SQL/Oracle/Goldengate!  We have an immediate need for talented programmers.  We believe in allowing talented teammates the opportunity to excel by becoming involved, being treated as a professional, and learning from a mentor. The first assignment in this position will be onsite.  But in future assignments, you will have the opportunity to work from home.

Skills:

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Monitoring different databases, addressing the alerts and taking necessary steps.
  • Investigate potential problems and issues raised by users.
  • Performance tuning of SQLs.
  •  Setting up & fine tune database backups.


Requirements:

  • 3-5 yrs solid working knowledge to support very large databases with heavy OLTP and batch activities.
  • 3-5 yrs expertise in performance monitoring & tuning.
  • 3-5 yrs strong Unix scripting (Shell/Perl) knowledge.
  • 3-5 yrs strong working knowledge in HP Unix, Sun and NT platform    

Preferences:

  • Working knowledge in DB2, SQL Server & MYSQL.
  • Solid Oracle 10g knowledge. Oracle 11g knowledge.
  • Knowledge in Goldengate replication or other replication tools.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work effectively in high pressure situations.
  • Able to work independently, to develop tools for database monitoring and maintanence.
  • Previous experience in a high availability, large scale production environment.

Education:

College degree is helpful; but not required. Real world experience is more important.

  • Competitive rural market rates paid
  • Stock option equity bonuses – Shareholder and Annual Bonuses. In 2009, bonuses were 10% of salary.
